    1. Abraham Lincoln was the sixteenth President of the United States, serving from March 4, 1861 until his assassination As an outspoken opponent of the expansion of slavery in the United States, Lincoln won the Republican Party nomination in 1860 and was elected president later that year During his term, he helped preserve the United States by leading the defeat of the secessionist Confederate States of America in the American Civil War He introduced measures that resulted in the abolition of slavery, issuing his Emancipation Proclamation in 1863 and promoting the passage of the Thirteenth Amendment to the Constitution in 1865.

    2. I am amazed by the writings of this man who you have to think about being pretty much self taught and came from a world of terrible sadness and horror in American History

    3. I actually loved this book! It was very descriptive in telling reliable information. It gave me more knowledge on Abraham Lincoln that I didn't know. Abraham Lincoln (In this book) was really into stopping slavery and that's what he was well known for. As I read more into the book, I had learned that Abraham was a humble man, but he showed his point straight on. I recommend this for people who want to learn a little more of a part of our history!
